Not only do we offer you relaxing days in the sun, chilled out evenings and partys galore, why don't you come turtle spotting with us?
The endangered species of Loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta Caretta) are found in the waters of the Ionian Sea, in particular around the sheltered bays of Zakynthos. The beaches of Zakynthos, especially in Laganas bay area, have the highest concentration of turtle nesting sites in the Mediterranean. It is important that these nesting grounds are protected to ensure the survival of this species of sea turtle in the Ionian Sea.
The Society for the Turtle Protection together with the Greek Ministry of Environment work to try to protect the Caretta Caretta. Nesting sites are patrolled to protect the eggs and hatchlings.
We depart every hour from 11am-5pm during the summer months. We also do trips to Marathonisi Island (Turtle Island) and the surrounding caves twice a day, from 12pm-2pm and 3pm-5pm.
Join us on the Cubanero's Boat (seating up to 25 people) for our daily turtle spotting boat trips to see the Caretta Caretta close up in their natural habitat. It is a favourite trip of many tourists as it offers a unique experience to see such ancient and majestic creatures swimming gracefully in the calm waters of the Ionian Sea.
Below are a few tips for you to take into consideration to help us to help the Caretta Caretta...
